    Qualifying Rules

  • Information about the home base of the band or solo artist is REQUIRED from all new submitters. If the home base is in a state other than Maine, please make the "Maine connection" clear. Other information (who plays what, how long ya been together) is encouraged.
  • Be sure to title your work. Untitled compositions will not be played.
  • Submissions from the WKIT listening area will be given first preference for airplay.
  • Do not ask to be called when your submission will be played. If you want to hear yourself, listen to the show.
  • Submissions on compact disc (preferred!) should be sent to:

  • Use of profanity in submissions will disqualify them from airplay.
  • Original songs are preferred, reworked covers of other artists' songs will be considered if something new and interesting is brought to the song, note-for-note recreations of other artists' work will not be considered.
  • Music submitted for Home Made Jam should be consistent with the format of WKIT.
  • SUBMISSION OF A MUSICAL WORK TO HOME MADE JAM IS NO GUARANTEE OF AIRPLAY.
  • There will be no payment for airplay of your work.
  • Home Made Jam is intended as a forum for local artists to present their original work. It is intended neither as a talent contest or a popularity contest. Organized "campaigns" to have your submissions played on the program will have no effect. If your music is good enough, it will be played.
  • Airplay on Home Made Jam does not mean that you will recieve airplay at any other time on WKIT.
